Once upon a time, there was a girl who lived a fairly decent life. She had gone through some hard times like everyone does, but things seemed to have fallen into place. It's true, she was a little bit angrier than she had been as a child, but she just attributed that to "growing up." Honestly, she didn't believe that anything was missing from her life.

She had a few friends who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and one of them in particular had sparked her interest. He was at a time in his teenage years where he wasn't quite sure what to do with his life. He thought he wanted to serve a mission for his church after graduation, but he just wasn't certain if that was what would happen.

Luckily for our story, the girl had sparked his interest too. Just as importantly, the biggest event of every high school year was fast approaching - Prom. The girl was freaking out because she didn't have a date, and after lots of way-too-obvious hints on her part and a lot of overcoming shyness on his part, he finally asked her to the prom, and she finally got to say YES! They decided that Prom would be their first date and after that they would decide where to go after that. It was not long before the big night arrived.

The two of them had a fantastic time at prom, and after a little bit of consideration, they decided that being together just felt right. It had been long enough. They would be boyfriend and girlfriend. When they told their friends, who had known it was only a matter of time, there was a joyous cry of "We told you so!" They started the summer with a renewed sense that happiness was achievable, that they would be able to stand anything as long as they stood together. That was the beginning of a long journey.
Before long, the boy had decided that he definitely wanted to serve a mission, and the girl had started to change things in her behavior because hanging around a Mormon all the time can start to rub off. She stopped cussing and began to realize that something was missing from her life. Something that her boyfriend had in his eyes. Something that she wanted too. When school started, she decided that she wanted to wake up at 5:00 a.m. to attend Early Morning Seminary, an educational program for LDS teens to learn about gospel principles.

There were times when she thought she had made the wrong decision - mostly when her alarm clock went off at 5:00 to signal a very EARLY start to the day - but mostly she enjoyed what she was learning. Whenever she had questions, she would ask her boyfriend. He found that he enjoyed answering her questions and really liked sharing the gospel with someone he loved.
She truly felt like she had found a part of herself that had been missing. Maybe this was where she was supposed to be. She began taking the lessons from the Sister Missionaries in their ward and within a very short amount of time, she was certain that this was the place for her. She decided to get baptized.

Her boyfriend was very pleased with her decision, and was ecstatic when she asked him to perform the baptism. He knew that it was an opportunity for him to further his missionary preparation and more importantly, it was a chance to share one of the most important times in his girlfriend's life. That day brought the two of them even closer together. Sundays at church, general conference, and of course, the temple were wonderful chances to grow together THROUGH the gospel.

To this day, their relationship continues. He is preparing to serve a mission, and she is preparing to wait for him. Together, they can achieve a...
